If you caught our blurry little teaser on social, you already knew something was coming. We said “not so fast.” Well, the wait is over, and our ready-to-drink espresso martini is officially here.
Say hello to the Open Road Distilling Co. ready-to-drink espresso martini, our new cocktail in a bottle. In short, it’s a bar-quality cocktail you can pour at home without hauling out the espresso machine. Best of all, it only needs ice and a good, hard shake.
We’ve been distilling in Northern Virginia since 2013 (read our story here), and the espresso martini is one of those cocktails we never get tired of. However, it’s also one of the fussiest to make well. For example, you need fresh espresso, a coffee liqueur, a syrup, a shaker, and the patience to get the foam right.
That’s why we did the hard part for you. Now our ready-to-drink espresso martini gives you a proper bar-style cocktail without the setup, whether it’s a dinner party, a game-day nightcap, or a Tuesday that needs a little lift.
Just three ingredients, and every one of them pulls its weight:

It’s right there on the poster. Three steps, about 30 seconds:
1. Shake. Pour 3 oz into a shaker packed with ice and shake it hard for 15 to 20 seconds. Don’t be shy. The harder you shake, the better the foam.
2. Pour. Next, double strain it into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
3. Foam. Finally, let that creamy foam settle on top, then garnish with three espresso beans for health, wealth and happiness.
Pro tip: Keep the bottle in the fridge so it’s already cold when you shake. As a result, you’ll get a frothier head and less dilution. Also, since it’s a coffee cocktail, refrigerate after opening.

Nope. Just ice. First, shake it hard, double strain it into a chilled glass and garnish with espresso beans if you have them. Then the vanilla gomme and cold brew build the foam on their own.
Sure, you can pour it over ice in a rocks glass for a quick sipper. However, for the full experience (and that signature foam), shake it with ice first.
Refrigerate it after opening. In addition, chilling it ahead of time gives you a better foam.
