Appearance:Beautiful bright copper hue with brilliant clarity
Nose:Refined finesse – beginning with subtle pear, brown sugar, and vanilla, and followed by light notes of cinnamon, walnut, and orange, underlying subtle notes of black tea, and dried plums
Palate:Aromatics of the nose carry over into the palate, soft and sweet to the taste with noticeable wine characteristics – softened mature wood tannins, vanilla, subtle citrus expressions on the sides of the mouth – finish is well integrated with sweet oak resin and toffee.
Our Reserve Series Bourbon and Rye whiskeys are superior single-barrel selections. Through our rigorous tastings of each barrel included in our coupes for our Independence Bourbon and Eagle Eye Rye, there is always one that stands out above the other exceptional barrels added to our blends. That barrel is placed in reserve to further age and gain additional complexity.
Once we feel the whiskey has reached its pinnacle, we begin harvesting. Due to the continued aging of the whiskey, the angel’s share is significant; that sacrifice, though, allows the product to be of the highest quality. Our proofing is minimal as we only want to enhance the aromatics to be robust and add distinct nuances.
This year’s releases were proofed down to 107 proof, though high to some; the whiskey has a smooth roundness and subtle warmth that is perfect for all whiskey enthusiasts. We are thrilled to share these single-barrel whiskies with you and in future releases.
